Abia State Recent Dissolution

1. The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has approved the dissolution of the Transition Committee in the 17 Local Governments of Abia State.
The Transition Committee Chairmen are directed to handover to the Head of Service of their Local Governments.

The Abia State Independent Electoral Commission is hereby request to submit their requirements for conducting election in Local Government for consideration and approval by State’s Executives.

2. The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has approved the appointment of Dr. Philip Nto as the Provost of the College of Education Technical Arochukwu with immediate effect. This puts to rest the issue of leadership tussle in that institution.

3. In another development, the Governor has directed the commencement of repair works on the road and bridge leading to Ugwueke in Bend Local Government.
